Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms OR Fluffy's Birthday Party
Saturday, December 18th I wake up and my back is fucking killing me. Megan closed the spa last night and she's quitting her (shitty) second job and her last day is Saturday so she's gone in early to get everything wrapped up and her exit interview. I decide to clean up my garage a bit and get some work done around the house. The morning starts off with some eggs and breakfast sausage with a tall glass of simply grapefruit. Life isn't great, but it could be a lot worse. We are all having a little chat about life, weekends and women as I move charcoal and my dads tools around the garage when suddenly my good buddeh u/fluffy_butternut tells everyone that regular women are not damaged enough for me to enjoy. Not only is this HIGHLY insulting to me, but it reflects poorly on Megan as well. rewind to several months before Mrs. Fluffy emailed the whole reddit gang and told us we are invited to a surprise birthday party for the big guy. She gave us instructions/time/place, etc and everything. She did a TON of work to plan this and it shows. I was under the gun at the courthouse with a trial and I wasn't able to commit to the event and all of us have stuff going on so the odds of anyone being able to make it were not good. However, I kept her email, and her cell number on a burner. cut to present https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyLdtG7KZvw Did he really go there? He really went there. It's fucking on like Donkey Kong. I pull out a burner and send a message to Mrs. Fluffy asking her if the plans are still the same. She tells me when he will be arriving at the venue and I tell her I'm gonna make a big fucking scene. She is ecstatic at this idea. I grab my packed bag from the closet and jump in the F350. I grab two organic bean to bar 88% endangered species chocolate bars for Megan and I stop by her work. She's busy, so I leave the chocolate for her at her station. I give her co-worker a note to hand to her when she gets out. "Dear Megan, out for revenge. Back tomorrow - Will." I start driving to MSY and traffic down I-10 isn't bad for a saturday. I phone Delta on the way there and book tickets for the flight. The only thing available is MD88 service connecting in Laguardia. In First. Being no stranger to the slightly elevated service and highly elevated price business model, I book the flight. I'm a little early so I make my way to the nearly brand new Delta Sky Club at MSY. It's new, the gumbo is tasty, the wifi is fast. Life isn't bad. Until I get the phone call from Megan. Me: Hi sweetie Megan: what the fuck does "out for revenge mean?" Me: It means I'm out for revenge. I gotta do some things. Megan: What things? We're supposed to have dinner with my brother tomorrow night! Me: Uh. It's a long story. How was your exit interview? Megan: It was fine. I'm leaving early today. Me: Did you go back to your station yet? Megan: No Me: You should stop there again before you leave. Megan: Why? The airport PA screeches boarding announcement for my flight. Me: They're calling my flight. I gotta run. Megan: Flight? What? Me: Gotta hop. Buy potatoes. See you tomorrow night! I hang up and hightail it for the gate. I pop in and see the pilots before we leave and ask them what are the odds we get 31 via the expressway today. He says he was just loading it into the box. I tell him the last time I did 31 via the expressway into LGA at the Delta Museum sim, it was not good. In fact it was the worst thing to hit new york since a bunch of muslims on a tuesday in September. He laughs. The ride into LGA is smooth as the HMG STG delivery schedule. New York is WINDY as fuck today and bumpy. I peer out the window of the left side of the plane and I get a beautiful close up photo of the statue of liberty and Ellis island. Wait. We're supposed to get 31 via the expressway. We should be on the localizer for LGA runway 4. That puts us right over my aunts place in Bay Ridge looking at the Verazanno. We're not getting 31, they're probably going to take us up over central park, back over da bronx and then in via 22. Sure enough, we land on 22 and I ask the pilots what happened and they said the winds shifted and they had to turn the airport around. Eh, no biggie. I've seen it once, I'll see it again. It's a great approach to fly and if you ever get to experience it, it's fucking magical. We land at LGA a few minutes late and the weather is cold, crisp and windy. I have a short connection but I head to the LGA sky club in terminal D. Life is good. I crack the laptop and do some work and as I close the laptop as they call my flight I see the very beginnings of light snow. I'm from Louisiana. I've never seen snow before. This scares me. I walk to the gate and I board in group 1 and take my first class seat. The plane is half empty. I walk up and chat with the pilots and they tell me that with the snow we are going to deice with type 1 fluid and anti ice with type 4 fluid. We will be a little delayed. As I gaze out the window from my seat, it's snowing and blowing even more. Ten minutes later, the boarding door closes and we start to push back. Conditions have worsened significantly. We can't see the next plane in front of us, things have turned into not quite whiteout but very concerning to this southern boy. The pilots tell us we are number 3 for the deicing truck and I gaze out onto the runway. It's whiter than an Ohio MAGA rally. Fuck me to tears. We deice as I check the weather in Pittsburgh. Rain/Freezing rain/Snow/wintry mix. I've never driven in snow. Fuck. Pucker factor increasing. I pull out my burner and send a message to Mrs. Fluffy and tell her I'm at the deice pad and will be there soon. We have a bumpy ride all the way across Pennsylvania and land about 30 minutes late. Hertz has me in the presidents circle but there is not a single car with local plates. I downgrade to a 2020 white Toyota Corolla since it's the only thing with PA plates on it and I hightail it to the venue. I talk to the waitstaff and tell them I'm crashing the party and ask them to get me a tray and a vest with a nametag. The staff is laughing their ass off at my idea. I message Mrs. Fluffy and she thinks the idea is HYSTERICAL. She can't wait. I tell her I'll be there at 645. T minus 60 minutes until Fluffy Arrival I've never been to this part of Pennsylvania. To be honest, I am a Philly guy. The people there are angry, drunken, profane and love cheese steaks. They're my kind of people. I've never been to a Sheetz or Primanti Brothers. However, fluffy tells me some stories about how he and his wife have a good time over at the meadows. I have NEVER been to a racino before, and ever since I was nearly arrested at Wynn Las Vegas - I've been a little scared. However, it's just down the road and as some of you know, I just came into a shit ton of money. This is not going to end well. I drive down interstate 79 and whip into the north parking garage at The Meadows. My pre-packed bag has four days of clothes, underwear, socks and PJ's, two kruggerands and $10,000 in cash just in case i need to flee the country. I pull out the ten dimes and make my way into the racino. The Meadows is HUGE. I get past the security checkpoint and walk around and I don't see any table games. I see a large well appointed poker room and see two craps tables working at the other end of the hall. I have no idea what table limits or odds are. I saunter up to the table. Me: How's the temperature guys? Degen1: Eh it's up and down. Me: As long as it's not as cold as outside amirte? Degen2: haha yeah yinz been outside today? freezing rain and that! Me: I don't know these words but whatever. The point is on 6. I drop $10,000 on the table. Me: Change only. Gimme 1 small and 9 thousands. Pit Boss: do you have a players club card? Me: never played here before, don't worry about it for now. Pit Boss: Okay! The dice come out, it hits jimmy hicks and the dealers pay out all the bets. I look at the table, the minimums are $5 and everyone has pass line and numbers. NOBODY has true odds. Fuck it. Time to show them how it's done. I drop $10 on the pass line. Dice are out. Point is four. I look up and down the table and nobody is making odds bets. I look down at my rack and drop $100 behind my bet. Dice come out. Six hard. Me: Hey pit boss! How much can I put behind the line? Pit Boss: We'll let you go to 10x, so we can take $100 on your pass line. It looks like you got $100 there but we'd count it out and if you were over we'll give you the extra back. Me: solid, thanks! I look down at my watch. Fluffy is due to arrive at 1900hrs. I told Mrs. I would be there at 1845. It's 15 minutes to drive from the garage to the party which means I need to be on the highway at 1830 which means I need to be out of the casino and cashed out and walking to the garage by 1825. She sends me a message asking me where I'm at. I tell her I'm at the meadows and.....fuck it's 1821. Fuck it. Go big or go home. I take my pass line up to $500 and shove $5000 behind the line. Everyone at the table is looking at me funny. I give $2400 to the dealers and tell them to split me the 6/8. Pit Boss: are you SURE you don't want a players club card? Me: no time! throw them bones! The whip slides the dice over to the fella next to me. He throws. Dealer: Four hard, four the hard way, four. Everyone at the table is looking at me funny. My $500 pass line bet has paid even money. The $5000 behind the line pays true odds on a 4, at 2:1. I look down at my watch. 1829. The dealers are stacking and distributing chips with a fervor. Me: Take down my 6/8 and color me up. Dealer: You got it boss! As they color up my chips, I tell Mrs. fluffy I just won a ton of money at the meadows and I'm cashing out now. I take a $100 chip, hold it up and ask if the dealers want to play it or drop it Dealer: It's up to you man, we don't mind. I plant the chip down on the pass line and tell them put half on the pass line ferda boys, drop the other half. They all LITERALLY clap and thank me. Me: One more thing, where's the cashier? They point me to the cage with the aplomb of a new airport ramper. I leave the casino with a giant wad of cash bulging in my jeans. There's no line and they count out all my cash quickly. I look down at my watch as she's counting out the last of the small bills. 1835. Fuck. I'm going to be late. I hate being late. I jog out to the north garage and hightail it back up interstate 79. I have never driven in snow, at night, or for that matter driven in Pennsylvania before until now. It's snowing, it's dark, the speed limit is 55 and I am the SLOWEST guy in the right lane at 80 and people are passing me going WTF ARE YOU DOING GET OFF THE ROAD judging by the horns and the flashing headlights. I am HAULING ass back up to the venue and I park the Toyota in a handicapped spot as I race into the venue. I find Harriet, the party planner she hands me a vest with a nametag. My transition from Will the gun dealer to Mario the waiter will completed as soon as he arrives. I get fluffy's favorite drink and a plate of some food set up on a tray and I hide in the back waiting for his arrival. Here's a photo. https://imgur.com/yZP2FuI As if it were choreographed to the minute, Mrs. Fluffy walks him in the front door at 7PM to a room full of people as a birthday surprise. He had not seen it coming. He begins making the rounds seeing everyone and saying hello. It's a big party so it takes some time. I hang back for a few minutes and let him do his thing and I give my phone to one of his friends and tell them to get this next part on video as I put on the vest and adjust the nametag. Friendo: Sure thing "mario" Me: shut up and just do some good camera work! I take the tray of beverage and minature charcuterie plate over to fluffy as he's greeting the party guests and sneak up behind him. He's taking his grand old time working the room. In my best italian Pittsburgh native accent I can muster, I'm holding the tray and I walk in front of him and put on a great big smile. Me: Can I get yinz something to drink? Or some charcuterie and that? Fluffy: ....... (I now feign anger) Me: OR IS THIS FOOD AND BEVERAGE NOT DAMAGED ENOUGH FOR YOUR LIKING?!?!?!??!?!?! YOU FAT DIABETIC OLD FUCK! Fluffy: What.....are you.........doing here? Me: Mrs told us about it and I figured I should give you a hard time after your comments this morning. Would you like some food? You know, airplane noises make the food taste better. Or are you a little too old for that? Lets give it a try! (I grab a carrot stick and fly it into his face by making very loud airplane noises in a ballroom full of fluffy's closest friends and family making a gigantic scene with people wondering is this a joke or what horrors are about to come next. No, this is not a joke, this really happened. Ask anyone who was there.) Fluffy: I'm good thanks Me: you sure? (more airplane noises followed by a carrot slice raping his mouth) Fluffy is shocked and awed. I tell him to go work the room and to have a happy birthday party. There's an open bar and I help myself to a double ginger ale, neat. I find some millennials and we chat about Hawaiian shirts and stuff and they think my comedy is HILARIOUS. Unlike most of reddit. Fluffy saunters over and we chat some more and he's wondering WTF. I told him the wife planned it all months in advance. Fluffy: You know u/xxxwirtydhorexxx is here. Me: That's really funny. Fluffy: No, he's really here. Me: Bullshit. Then where is he? Fluffy: He's right in front of you, 12 o'clock. I don't see him. Then I look down and there's a guy in a boonie hat. I didn't recognize him without the dress. Me: Oh dear god. He's really here isn't he? Wirty gets up and walks over and he's like HI! I THOUGHT IT WAS YOU! We have a bunch of really really awkward conversation that involves him inviting me to sit next to him and me running over to Mrs. Fluffy asking her to save me from wirty. She finds a spot at her table by her kids for me. I forget his present, even though his wife said no presents and there's a table full of booze, scratchers, and gun stuff. I drive back up to the hotel to grab it and give it to him. He has no idea what it is. You all should ask him about it. I give it to him and Wirty starts complaining about normies. Fluffy: Where are you staying? Me: The Hilton just down the street Fluffy: Oh, the one on the top of the hill? Me: That's why it's the HILL-ton. Everyone groans. Me and wirty talk and he weirds me out and demands to stand next to me in the group photo. I tell more jokes and the millenial group loves me. We close the place down and head back to fluffy's hotel. BOY HOWDY LET ME TELL YOU.........if you thought MY stories were longwinded and pointless you have not met some of fluffy's friends! His local raconteur buddy was telling us at 145AM his story about being fucked by the Virginia state police for speeding. Yeah. I dump him off at his hotel and I head back up to my room. It's 3AM by the time I shower and sleep. SUNDAY JANUARY 19TH 2020 My alarm wakes me up at 9AM. My back is killing me. My head is pounding. It's 21 degrees outside. Fuck this noise. I go back to sleep. The hotel phone rings. Me: Go for Hayden Operator: I have a fluffy butternut on the phone for you. Me: Go ahead and connect us Operator: Thank you (sound of dial tone) I'm not making this up. I grab my phone and call fluffy and we have brunch at the meadows with the mrs. It's fun, we talk guns, life, liberty and the pursuit of extra sides of marinara. I hang out with them at the slot machines until it's time to head to the airport. I gas up at the sheetz next to the racetrack and I fly back home in coach since my status on delta is radioactive dirt. The incoming flight is late from Atlanta which means we leave late for Atlanta and i get back home 2.5 hours later than I expected. Laundry is running and I am unpacking as Megan walks in the door. Me: Hi! Megan: Hi. Back from revenge so soon? Me: Yeah. I'm actually late. How was dinner with your brother? Megan: Good. He took me to olive garden. So tell me what was so important you had to go out for revenge and come back the next day? (I tell her the story) Megan: Wait a minute. Your friend insulted you as a joke, so you bought a last minute first class ticket to new york and pennsylvania to fly to his surprise birthday party to yell at him in person, in january in 21 degree weather? Me: Yeah. Megan: Why would you do that? Me: Well he said that you're damaged goods. He wasn't insulting me, he was insulting you. I didn't like that. Megan: You cannot be serious. Me: I am serious. Megan: and don't call you Shirley? Me: You're weird. Megan: I'm not the one that just flew across the country to go "out for revenge", and I'm the weird one? Me: (goofy smile) Megan: (goofy laughter) Have a lovely holiday weekend everyone!

Trip Report: Honeymoon to Tokyo, Kyoto, and Seoul (875k pt spend)
My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon to Japan and Korea. We booked all travel accommodations using points to book a luxury vacation to Japan and Korea! Overall, we used a total of 875,000 points. I would have loved to make it a "million point vacation", but I couldn't find a way to spend our AA or MR points to add extra value :). Since this is the AwardTravel subreddit, most of this trip report will focus on the travel accommodations booked with points, but I'll still include a short description of other activities we enjoyed since I know there's a lot of other travelers looking for an opportunity to visit Japan and Korea.
The Flight - Korean Air First Class
Our travel began with a first-class flight on Korean Air leaving from IAD. Normally, KAL first-class passengers would be allowed access to the AirFrance/KLM lounge. Unfortunately, this lounge is currently closed for renovation so we were instead directed to the Virgin Atlantic lounge (although it looks like AirFrance and KLM passengers get to use the Etihad lounge). This lounge was nothing exciting. We were there for breakfast, and although they did have some hot options, the food was pretty bad. I tried a small bite of everything, but the only food there that I enjoyed was an apple. On the bright side, they did have cold beer, wine, and a small selection of hard liquor as well as a nice view of the tarmac and plenty of comfortable seating. This was our first time travelling anything other than coach/economy, so both of us were very excited to see if first class was everything it's chocked up to be. Compared to every other flight I've had, this flight was unbelievably enjoyable. I was worried that 14 hours of flight time would be uncomfortable regardless of which class we were flying, but by the end of the flight I was disappointed we had to deplane. Korean Air uses the Boeing 777-300ER for the IAD-ICN flight, which features the new-ish Kosmo Suites 2.0. These first-class suites are huge. They have plenty of storage compartments, a USB charging port in the in-flight entertainment console, and an international-compatible AC outlet on the floor. As most reviews of Korean Air flights say, the in-flight entertainment is pretty lacking. Luckily I had the first 7 seasons of Game of Thrones downloaded to my laptop which I happily watched with the noise-cancelling Bose headphones they provide. I think what I was most surprised with was how many flight attendants they seemed to have devoted completely to first-class guests. It seemed like they had 1 flight attendant for every two passengers, but maybe some of them sneaked away to serve business/coach when I wasn't looking. Regardless, I was very impressed with how briskly I was tended to each time I pressed the call button. The food service was great considering we were eating 40,000 ft in the sky. As soon as we left the ground, our flight attendant showed us the drink menu and took both meal orders ("dinner" as the first meal, and "lunch" as the second). Nether my wife nor I drink, but my uncultured palette thought the champagne tasted great. The meal service started with an amuse bouche of cream-cheese stuffed tomato and mushroom, followed by a serving of caviar with traditional accompaniments. For my first meal I chose Korean Air's famous Bibimbap served with soup, banchan, and a side of bulgogi. For how simple this meal looks, it was excellent - especially the bulgogi. For dessert, they served very good fresh fruit, cheese, and crackers followed by an unremarkable chocolate pound cake. After watching a few more episodes of Game of Thrones, my flight attendant asked if I would like my bed made. She grabbed a mattress topper and a nice comfy blanket, fully reclined my seat, and made my bed into what felt like a normal twin-size bed. I changed into the pajamas they provided and slept very well for a few hours. As a midnight snack I decided to try a bowl of spicy ramen, which lived up to its namsake of "spicy" by being a little too hot for my enjoyment. Luckily they also had cookies and milk on the menu, which I was very delighted to hear from the flight attendant when she said "I'm sorry, it will take about 8 minutes for me to bake them fresh for you". No worries - I have never been disappointed to wait for freshly baked cookies, and they certainly did not disappoint this time. After sleeping for a few more hours, my wife woke me up to let me know I only had a couple more hours until we landed. For lunch, they offered a nice "build your own salad" station with a blend of greens, veggies, and anchovy. It was nice to have something crisp and refreshing since I was feeling groggy after waking up. For my second meal I chose the Chilean Sea Bass with veggies. I really enjoyed it, but my wife wasn't too impressed. For dessert they served fruit and cheese again. Upon landing, we weren't able to enjoy any of the lounges at the ICN airport since we only had 45 minutes to catch our connecting flight. After spending about 10 minutes looking for a lounge with a shower, we decided that we didn't have time and proceeded to our gate. The ~2.5 hour flight from ICN to NRT was on an Airbus A300-330. The first-class seating on this flight actually looked identical to the business class. The seats were still lie-flat, but it was about two-thirds the size. Again, I got the Bibimbap for my meal, even though it didn't come with the side of bulgogi this time. The flight was over before I knew it, and again the customer service we received was excellent.
Tokyo - Ritz Carlton
After getting our bags and going through customs and immigration, I had to figure out how to get to our first destination: The Ritz Carlton Tokyo. There's normally a "limousine bus" that leaves from the Narita airport that stops at our hotel, but because we weren't ready to depart from the airport until about 9:30pm there were no more buses for the day that stopped at The Ritz. There's also a train that goes directly to Tokyo Station, the "Narita Express (NEX)", but we also missed the last train for that. A quick Google search showed that it would cost about $300 to take a cab from the airport, we instead took a bus from the airport to a hotel about 2 miles from our hotel and took a cab from there. This was especially daunting considering my cellular data only worked for about 10 seconds every 10 minutes, it was getting late, and there was an obvious language barrier that made me wonder if we were headed in the right direction. But luckily, we made it to our hotel without too much effort. As expected, the customer service at The Ritz was great. Our bags were immediately taken for us when we stepped out of the cab and we were escorted to the main lobby on the 45th floor. When we stepped out of the elevator we were met by the live music of smooth jazz saxophone and a vocalist that made me think "god damn this is a swanky hotel". It got even better when we got to our room and were met with this view. They must clean the windows every day, because when you walk into the room you can't even tell there's a pane of glass there. It almost looks like an optical illusion. Having this great view was one of the highlights of the trip, and one of the biggest reasons to choose the Ritz Carlton when staying in Tokyo. Again, I cannot believe how excellent the service was at this hotel. The concierge was great (for the most part - more on that later), turn-down service twice daily, spotlessly clean room and bathroom, etc. What really made them surpass my expectations were the little things. On Day 1 we used up all the complementary espresso pods, so during turn-down service the housekeeper left an extra box of espresso with a note (picture taken after we used some). Similarly, after a day when we used both complimentary bottles of water, after turn-down service we found two extra bottles of water with another endearing note. And one day when we mentioned to the concierge that we were celebrating my birthday and our honeymoon, we found this nice gift of chocolates in our room when we returned for the night (the heart and sphere were filled with chocolate covered almonds). Somehow I forgot to take pictures of our room. It was standard size as far as hotel rooms go, but the bathroom was exceptionally large. There was a bathtub, shower, two sinks, and a separate small room with the toilet. Speaking of the toilet, it seems like many toilets in Japan have built-in bidet systems with warm water and heated seats. This one was especially nice and had a "power deodorizer" that seemed to vacuum up the fumes directly from the bowl. Wouldn't be a deal-breaker if they didn't have it, but we enjoyed having a high-tech toilet for the first time in our lives :). Like I said, the concierges were great with most of their recommendations. All of them were fluent in English and we enjoyed every activity/restaurant that was recommended, with one exception. For my birthday dinner we wanted to try some Japanese fine dining. We told the concierge our price limit of ~250/pp, and were recommended to try a traditional Japanese kaiseki at the Ritz Carlton's restaurant Hinokizaka. As expected, the view from our seats was excellent, and we were very happy to have some origami to take home with us as souvenirs. Unfortunately, those were the only things that we were impressed with. We've had the pleasure of dining at a handful of fine-dining restaurants and have never regretted splurging a few hundred dollars on a meal - until now. We were presented with two menu choices - one for $180 and the other $240. Without really looking too closely at the difference between the two menus we decided to get one of each. I still don't understand why the $240 menu was more expensive. Most dishes were nearly identical, but the $240 menu had one less course and there were no "ultra-luxury" items that would normally expect an upcharge like truffles, caviar, foie gras, etc. Without diving into detail on why each dish was disappointing, I'll just say that most dishes seemed poorly balanced - either too salty or too bitter. There was an herbal lemon jelly that several of the dishes used that completely overpowered the dish with a sour, bitter flavor that was, bluntly, disgusting. Maybe it's just that I don't like Japanese fine dining, because the restaurant seems to be well-reviewed elsewhere, but I will certainly not be going back for a ~$500 dinner. At least the presentation of the food was pretty.
Tokyo - Sightseeing Highlights
Tokyo was our favorite destination. Everything was surprisingly easy to navigate once we figured out that there are actually several distinct rail companies that share some of the same stations. At each of the rail stations we used, there was always staff that spoke English well enough to help us, and we were always made to feel welcome to the country. Every time we asked for help we were politely greeted and treated respectfully. Overall, it seems like Japan strongly encourages foreigners by having multi-language maps, easy to decipher pictures, and multi-lingual customer service to answer questions. The one really annoying thing that surprised me was the lack of trash cans. There were several times where we wanted to throw something away but instead just tossed it in our backpack because we walked for blocks without seeing a garbage can. The same thing goes for buying snacks in marketplaces - eat it and give your trash to the vendor you bought it from, otherwise be prepared to carry the trash with you all day. Somehow, the city seems pretty clean regardless. While we were in Tokyo, we saw beautiful gardens and temples, and ate amazing food. Most of our time here was spent browsing for souvenirs around the various shopping districts (such as the famous Shibuya crossing area), falling in love with dogs at "puppy cafes", and playing wacky Japanese arcade games. We also spent half a day at DisneySea because my Wife is a Disney fanatic and she originally wanted to do DisneyWorld for our honeymoon.
Kyoto - Hyatt Regency
Compared to the Ritz Carlton, there's not really much to say about this hotel. Compared to most hotels, this was a very nice hotel. Compared to the Ritz Carlton, it was exceptionally normal. The service was pleasant and the concierge was able to recommend how to make the most of our time in Kyoto. From our second story window, we had absolutely no view - we could only see the wall of the building next door. Instead of a 65" top-of-the-line Sony Bravia, we instead had to watch Game of Thrones on a plebeian 42" display. We did not get gourmet chocolates left for us in our room, nor were any thoughtful handwritten notes left by the housekeeper. I know it's not fair to compare this Hyatt to the Ritz Carlton, so to be fair, this hotel was very nice. It was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. Although I wouldn't recommend it at its cash price of ~$564/nt, I was happy to pay 20k Hyatt points to stay there.
Kyoto/Osaka - Sightseeing Highlights
We purchased the 7-day JR RailPass since I knew we'd use it for a round-trip to Tokyo-Kyoto-Osaka and a trip from Tokyo Station to Narita Airport. At ~$260 each, it more than paid for itself. You need to purchase the JR RailPass voucher while you're still in the United States, then bring the voucher with you to Japan. Exchanging the voucher at Tokyo Station was straightforward, and we were able to reserve a seat on the Shinkansen "Hikari" to Kyoto. After just under 3 hours, we arrived at Kyoto Station and took a complimentary taxi to our hotel. Again, we saw some beautiful temples and ate lots of food. We took a day trip to Osaka using our JR RailPass. We decided not to get reserved seats and just hopped on the next available train, but unfortunately had to stand for the entire 45 minute journey. Osaka was an awesome city and probably deserved more than just a day trip. My wife loved the shopping areas there, and we also took a trip to Osaka Temple at night. While we were there they had an event going on called "Sakuya Lumina" where you stroll along the path to the temple and follow along with a short story of a girl from the future who's trying to get home. Along the way there are beautiful light shows and short movies, and a great photo spot where one of the employees offers to take photos with your phone. At the top, you get a great view of Osaka Temple close-up, where we also found some adorable and friendly stray cats. Back in Kyoto, we had our most enjoyable day of the vacation. We took the subway to Arashiyama - most well known for its beautiful bamboo forest, temples, and most of all - the Iwatayama monkey park. It's a small hike and about $10 to get to the monkey park, but it's well worth it. When you reach the summit, there are dozens of Macaque monkeys just running around. There are a lot of employees around to stop tourists from touching the monkeys, but you can get pretty much as close as you want. The monkeys here are completely desensitized to humans are will walk right past you, even with their babies. There is a small hut with a fence for a wall where you can feed the monkeys potatoes and peanuts for $1/bag. We happened to be there during "feeding time" where one of the employees walks around and throws chestnuts and seeds on the ground which the monkeys go crazy for. I don't think there's anywhere else in the world where you can experience this, and it's a must-do during a visit to Kyoto. While we were in Kyoto, we decided we had to try "real" Kobe Wagyu beef. I've had A5 wagyu once before at Cut in Beverly Hills, but I was excited to compare it to what Japan has to offer. And since my steak-loving wife has never tried it, I was especially excited to see her reaction to biting into the best steak shes ever had. The restaurant we chose, Premium Pound Gion, absolutely killed it. Each course was excellent, the ambiance was great (the whole restaurant is just a "chef's table" style seating), and steak was just as good as I remembered. If you've never had Kobe beef (note: the term "Kobe beef" has no significance in the USA, but "A5 wagyu" does; if you want to experience this type of steak in the USA, look for that designator) and aren't a vegetarian, you need to try it. It's worth it. Here are some pictures of the dinner.
Flight - Tokyo to Seoul
After taking the Shinkansen back to Tokyo and going back to the Ritz Carlton to pick some luggage we left there while we were in Kyoto, we spent the remainder of the day at DisneySea Tokyo then headed to our hotel airport to prepare for a 10:30am flight. The Hilton hotel we stayed at did have a very good breakfast buffet that included both Japanese and Western cuisine. For us it was complimentary thanks to the automatic HHonors Gold status provided by the Amex Hilton Ascend. The Korean Air lounge at NRT was pretty unremarkable - similar to the Virgin Atlantic lounge we used at IAD. They did have an area sectioned off for first-class only, which was pretty unnecessary since there was plenty of seating elsewhere. However, it was nice to be able to walk past the "first-class only" sign to let all the other lounge members know just how baller we are. Just like the ICN-NRT flight, we were served a nice lunch followed be cheese and fruit. The same aircraft, A330-300, was used as well.
Seoul - Hilton Millennium
Unfortunately, with the exception of the Marriott Courtyard we stayed at in Dulles, this was the most disappointing stay of the trip. There wasn't anything awful about it, but this hotel just didn't have the same level of service as the others. When we arrived to the hotel, the doorman unloaded our bags for us but did not take them to our room. The concierge spoke English, but not very well. There was a doorman who assisted with taxis, but several times there were communication problems due to translation. Overall, the hotel staff seemed a little indifferent. In comparison to all the hotels I've ever stayed at, this probably still ranks in the top 50%, but is in a completely different category than the other hotels we stayed at for this trip. On the plus side, they give out free $10 vouchers per person per day to the casino attached to the hotel, which we were always sure to cash out before we left for the day. We also got free breakfast and "cocktail hour" snacks which were always mediocre. We had breakfast most days because it was provided for free, but I would not suggest paying for it if you're not an HHonors Gold member.
Seoul - Sightseeing Highlights
While we were in Seoul, we took a cab pretty much everywhere that wasn't within walking distance. The prices were cabs in Seoul are cheaper than any other city I've taken cabs (DC, NYC, Tokyo, Kyoto), and are barely more expensive than taking the metro. Most fares were less than $10, the most expensive being a ~22 minute cab to Gangnam costing about $13. Again, we love to try exotic food, so we made sure to experience as much of the local cuisine and street food that we could try. The highlights were the freshly fried sweet "Korean pancake" filled with honey and walnuts and the muskmelon bingsu with ice cream that was surprisingly delicious considering how pretty it looked. We also had Korean BBQ from a restaurant called "The Marbling" that we went to twice because we enjoyed it so much. We really enjoyed walking through the markets and buying junky souvenirs. We also took a guided tour that I would not recommend since it ended with a trip to a "ginseng museum" where they locked us in a sales room for 30 minutes where we were relentlessly pitched to by salespeople to get us to buy hundreds of dollars worth of "cancer-preventing, life-lengthening, energizing ginseng".
Flight - Seoul to Dulles
The check-in for KAL first class flyers is pretty unique at ICN. There's a "first class check-in lounge" prior to security where you're served beverages while your bags are checked. I thought this was a nice touch compared to the normal check-in experience, even though we only stayed for a few minutes before going through security. From what I understand, there's several different Korean Air lounges at ICN. There's the "normal" KAL lounge that anyone can access, the miler lounge that can only be accessed by million milers, and then there's the first-class only lounge. We spent all of our time in the first class lounge, which was the nicest lounge of the trip. We had an early flight home so they were serving breakfast - an assortment of Korean and Western options as well as ice cream, beer, wine, and a small assortment of hard liquor. They also had table service where you could order eggs or a couple other traditional Korean breakfast options. They also had a massage chair, but I couldn't figure out how to work it because all of the controls were in Korean. The flight was the same as the original IAD-ICN leg with some slightly different but equally delicious food options. After 14 hours of eating, sleeping, watching Game of Thrones, eating, and sleeping, we were back to real life in Dulles where we had a 3 hour drive home.

Conclusion
The many hours of accumulating points, learning from /churning and /awardtravel, and planning our itinerary were well worth it. I can't wait to build up our points bank in preparation for our next big redemption. Even though I'm glad we flew first class once, I don't think we'll splurge on it again. Business class seems adequate, even though the seats are a fair bit smaller. At least first class seats had plenty of availability so planning around our schedules and only flying non-peak season was not an issue. The Ritz Carlton Tokyo was amazing and well worth the points, but unfortunately due to Marriott award redemption change this hotel will now cost 85k points instead of 60k. It may still be worth it if you have the points to get the 5th night free. The Hyatt Regency was nice, but definitely not worth the cash rate. The Hilton Millennium was probably not worth the amount of points we blew on it, but Hilton points are pretty worthless anyway. The Conrad in Seoul may have been a better option - it's hard to say, they have similar reviews. If you go to Japan, go to Arashiyama and the Iwatayama Monkey Park! Also, early May turned out to be a great time of the year to travel to Japan/Korea. Every day was in the low 70s and mostly sunny - perfect weather!

Still live for this weekend! :D BBDLS: 0-0 (0u) SBBDLS: 0-0 (0u) Teasers: 0-0 (0u) Sunday Games Baltimore at Buffalo(+6): This is one of my favorite games on the slate. The younger class showcasing talents. These two could very well be an AFC match up for the next decade. My algo has this BAL -4 and the game opened up around BAL -7/7.5. The weather shows heavy winds predicted. This shouldn't be too much of an issue as Allen is used to playing in Buf weather and Jackson just showed last week against the 49ers in the weather that he is capable of making some on point throws. The algo is looking at both teams to lean on the run and since and the line seems to be shaded towards public market value, the algo leans value on the Buffalo side. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely universes where the Baltimore train keeps rolling and puts up another 35+, but the algo also has universes that see Buffalo get a much needed surprise victory to put them in the AFC race with the Patriots. Gotta take the home team with a good defense in windy weather getting points. Washington at Green Bay(-13.5): Ok. This is a curious one. Obviously right off the bat we have to look at the RLM. The game opened at GB -14.5 and quickly moved under the two TD mark to GB -12.5/13.5, despite ~60% of the early tickets on the GB side. I'd say the reason for the sharp support and the RLM is the fact that won their last two following a 1-9 start. Also, RB Derrius Guice ran for 129 yards and two touchdowns in last week's 29-21 win at Carolina. That combined with the fact that GB's biggest weakness appears to be their Run D, and the sharps look to give WAS a chance to stay within two TDs. I was way off on GB and the NYG last week and if the sharps moved the line under a key number already, I don't see much value here for me to find. Ill probably avoid the spread all together. Denver at Houston(-9): This game is a very tough spot to cap IMO. Denver replaced their QB last week an he came in and got a win in his first NFL start. HOU just upset NE last week that supposedly has one of the leagues best defenses. How can I even use the Denver offensive stats in the model when this QB has never started a road game? Conversely, this game doesn't mean as much to HOU as the last game or the next game. If they can get wins over the Titans than the division is theirs for the taking. The algo does lean over on this one but as I said, how much can you trust data predictions when there is almost no data on DEN when starting Locke? Note, the algo leaned over when writing this, but it has since moved from 41 to 43 in most spots. Value evaporated. San Francisco at New Orleans(-2.5): Here we have a fantastic match up with two Superbowl contenders. SF is on the road for the second straight week and is coming off a rough loss against Baltimore last week. NO last played on Thanksgiving so they have a couple extra days rest and preparation, and aside from the stumble vs. the Falcons, have been getting the job done this season. While both teams have pretty legit overall teams, the biggest strength for SF is their Pass D, and for NO their Run D and pass rush. Because of that, the algo is leaning Under. Cincinnati at Cleveland(-7): Another hard one to cap... Cincinnati re-inserted Dalton as the starting QB and he came out to lead the Bengals to their first win this year. Cleveland fell to PIT last week and is essentially out of the Wild Card race. Yet statistically Cleveland has a clear edge, especially at home in a divisional match up. I just can't look too much at either of these sides or the total. Cleveland is in shambles and who knows if they show up. Cincy opened as high as +10.5 in most places and the line is all the way down to 7 now. If there was value on that side, its gone. With that being said, this looks like a game to avoid for me. Carolina at Atlanta(-3.5): The craziness continues as we find ourselves looking at another game unsure of how to proceed with the data. How do we handicap a team losing their head coach? Does that effect our ratings at all? The great news for the Falcons (besides being at home) is that they are likely to see the return of all 3 offensive weapons in Hooper, Jones, and Ridley. If there was value on the ATL side is has diminished as the line moved. There is potentially some value on the Carolina side with all of this line movement, but relies on the play of Allen, who since his hot start has been one of the leagues worst. Can CMC put the team on his back? Detroit at Minnesota(-12.5): This game opened up at -14 and has slowly moved down. This should be a blowout. Min, at home, playing a battered Lions D and a Lions O starting a QB for his first road start? However, Blough didn't look that bad (granted a big chunk of his yards came on one play) vs the Bears, and the Lions are coming off some extra rest while Min is coming off a loss on MNF and a short week. A big factor in this game will be whether or not Snacks plays for DET. With him in the middle, it gives DET a chance at slowing down the MIN rushing attack. If he is out, this game could be ugly. I can't find any value on MIN right now. Thielen is doubtful and Diggs will most likely be shadowed by Darius Slay. Im also not sure I can trust a rookie QB in his first road start. If I had to pick, I would lean DET just because of how bad MIN D has been vs. the pass this year compared to most, but since the line has moved off the key 14, I have no hard lean. Miami at New York Jets(-5.5): Annnnnddd we continue the trend of meaningless games that are hard to cap. By meaningless I am referring to this years playoff implications. This game definitely has some meaning. Whomever loses, is in line for a slightly easier schedule next year, and a higher pick in the draft. The Jets have 3 of 5 starters in the secondary sitting out this week, however the Dolphins defense is...well we all know. The only thing that has given MIA some life this season has been old man river bringing the magic. So...Can we bet on old man magic to bring it again, this time in colder weather than the team is used to? Or... Can we bet on a Jets team that benefits more from a loss than a win this week? I can't make a case for either. Indianapolis at Tampa Bay(-3): Before I looked at the algo I was leaning IND ml. Mack is back for IND, they are playing for the wild card spot while TB plays for nothing, and they are the underdog in this situation! However, the RLM has me flipping right to the TB side. There is a slight majority on the IND spread, but a much bigger majority on the IND ml. However, the spread has moved from the -1 open all the way up to -3/3.5. The Bucs showed commitment to the run last week and in 4 of their 5 wins this season they have rushed for +100 yards. IND's defensive weakness is their run stopping game... TB's weakness is their pass defense, however...the Colts will again be without WR TY Hilton. The movement has me leaning TB, but again, just like a few of the other games, as the line moves, the value drops. LA Chargers at Jacksonville(+3): Continuing on theme, a game that has 0 playoff implications and a QB change. BDN is out, The Stache is back in. Jacksonville is the 2nd worst team vs the run and even though Rivers has been turning into an old man river, Melvin Gordon is starting to heat up. I am unsure how much to trust my algo given the recent QB inconsistencies for the Jags, however, it is leaning LA here. Keenan Allen is back, Hunter Henry is questionable, and there is 0 pressure on Rivers now except to show he deserves one more season. Pittsburgh at Arizona(+2.5): Duckman vs the Cardinals. Haha, actually the more important match up will be the Pittsburgh defense vs. Kyler Murray. Murray looked horrible last week vs the Rams and the PIT defense has proved to be no joke this year. The Cards Defense is mediocre vs the run and horrible vs the pass. I expect Pitt to do what they do best: Establish the run game, take shots off play action pass. They will be without JuJu and Conner again, but I expect Washington to continue his recent above average play against an Arizona defense that ranks bottom in the league. Tennessee at Oakland(+3): Here's a match up that has wild card implications for both teams. TEN can afford to lose it if they win both games with the Texans, but I don't think they are counting on that. OAK is coming off back to back blowout losses but returns home where they are 4-1 this year. TEN has been on fire since replacing Mariotta for Tannehill, going 5-1, and they will be going up against a Raider D that hasn't been bad overall, but has been slipping the last few weeks. My algo has flagged this as a heavy lean on the over. OAK has the second worst overall defense according to DVOA and TEN is bottom 30% vs the pass (which Carr has been pretty good at overall this year) Kansas City at New England(-3): Boy oh boy is this a great year for football. So many interesting match ups! Almost makes the games worth watching XD This game is a rematch of the AFC championship game last year and could be a precursor to another big playoff meeting. Pre-algo look, i wanted to hop all over the Chiefs and the over. However, post algo, my lean is NE and the Under. Looking for Bellichek to be very run focused and keep the ball out of KC hands. NE does have a godly home record SU, but this year they are 1-4 ATS against teams that entered with winning records this season. New England did not score more than 22 points in any of those games. Seattle at LA Rams(pk): I cant even touch this one. Seattle seems to have the magic dust this year. The team with destiny. However, this line came out close to SEA -3 and has moved to PK/LA -1 despite 65% of the spread tickets on SEA. This is a divisional game that the Rams neeeed to keep their playoff hopes alive. I may have to just roll with the RLM and fade the public in a prime time game to wrap up the day. I have 29u of free bets on Sugar House left over from referrals that need to be used by the end of next week. We have a wonderful Sunday slate, but first lets recap TNF. Singles: 2-2 (-1.25u):What an interesting game! The opening drive was deceiving, 1 36 yard run, and 1 timely penalty on 3rd down gave AZ an easy drive. Then it looked like the game was going to go as the world thought with SF running away. Then AZ somehow flipped the momentum and it was rather scary. We missed the spread and Suggs hurt his knee early limiting his reps. Bosa was nowhere to be found in this game, but in the 4th quarter run for the Cards, Murray was able to hit his prop on just 2 runs. Parlay: 0-0 (0u)None BBDLS: 0-0 (0u)None SBBDLS: 0-0(0u)None Teasers: 0-0(0u)None Sunday Games Really Early Game (9:30am) Houston @ Jacksonville (+1.5/+2): Today's slate starts off with a very early game taking place in London. Interesting, my algo has this as a 23-23 game with Houston's offense being a little better but Jacksonville's D being a little better. This is supposed to be a "home game" for the Jags, and this will be there 7th straight trip to London to play a "home game". Currently the most notable injury is J.J. Watt. He has a torn pectoral muscle and is out for the season. Other than Watt, the only Texans notable still on the injury report is Will Fuller. As of Thursday, he is a DNP but his status is still unknown. The Jags have a few line backers sit from practice Thursday, but no notable injuries. Starting with the Texans offense: rushing they are pretty legit averaging 4.8 ypc and 133.6 ypg. Facing them will be a Jacksonville rush D that ranks in the middle to bottom half of the league. Giving up an average of 4.7 ypc and 108 ypg. What the Jax D does well, is the pass rush. So far this year they have 29 sacks (3rd) While the Texans are doing better protecting Watson compared to previous years, he has still been sacked 24 times (25th in NFL) On the opposite side of the ball, we have a decent Jacksonville offense going up against a mediocre Texans pass D. (28th against the pass giving up 277 ypg in the air) The Texans are giving up the 13th fewest fantasy points to the running back position but, that was pre-Watt injury. It should be interesting to see if the defensive changes can be taken advantage of by Fournette. Overall, Wembley Stadium looks like it could be a Texans home stadium, dark blue walls and red seats. Personally this looks like a game that has play on both sides potential. With this game I could see playing teasers with both sides if you can get the numbers over 6.5. I easily see this as a tight match up and therefor I see it as a candidate for the infamous, double tease-middle burger. Sidenote, I thought this was a curious tweet: https://twitter.com/HoustonTexans/status/1190038970090082304?s=20 Obviously he is flashing an "L" for London. But if you think about, it kinda looks like he is predicting an "L" as he boards the plane. :P Note:There is RLM on this game. Washington @ Buffalo (-10.5): This is a game that probably won't be watched much. Dwayne Haskins starting for WAS with Colt McCoy as backup. Case Keenum, Montae Nicholson and Chris Thompson won’t play. The only injury to for the Bills is linebacker Maurice Alexander who will be out. I mean the Bills should win this game. But do we trust them to cover this big of a spread? Especially after we saw how they played against Miami. Josh Allen has been average at best, throwing 9 TDs, 7 INTs and averaging an 80.4 passer rating and 213 ypg passing. But if he is going to have an above his average game, this is the team to do it against. The redskins pass d gives up an average 100qbr (23rd) and 73 comp % (31st). In this game however, I think the Bills will focus on their running game. The Bills run offense averages 4.9 ypc (4th) and 130 ypg (8th). Frank Gore (15,170) needs 100 yards to pass Barry Sanders and move into third place on the NFL's all-time rushing list. This may be the game he gets it in, but I would look for some of his action to go to Singletary as the Redskins are pretty bad against receiving backs. Overall, the Redskins run defense is pretty bad averaging 4.4 ypc (19th) 138 ypg (28th). I like the Bills obviously, but 10.5 is a lot. The Bills overall offense is 24th in scoring and not beaten a team over .500 (close game vs pats) (They beat the jets giants benglas titans dolphins with a combined record of 7-31) If you play DFS, this is a good RB/DST stack game. Tennessee @ Carolina (-3.5): Still no Cam. Kyle Allen remains under center for Carolina. This is actually a really tough one for me that has the feel of a defensive/running battle. The Titans have 34 sacks allowed (most in NFL) and Car has 30 sacks (2nd) and a 26% pressure rate (7th). Conversely, the Panthers given up 23 sacks and the Titans have recorded 22 sacks (9th) The Panthers have been held under 300 total yards in three of their past four games. Some of that is their reliance on CM. Some of it is probably Kyle Allen. (As he plays more, more film is developed on him and he should regress to his mean) However, this will be an important game to see what he's got. The Panther's number one weapon, McCaffrey, should have a rough go as the Ten rush defense is averaging giving up only 96.5 ypg (11th) rushing. On the other side of the ball we have Tannehill. He has led game-winning drives late in both of his starts since taking over for Mariota. While also completing 73.1% of his passes. The Panthers do have 5th ranked pass d, but the are also sporting the 27th ranked rush d giving up 135 ypg and 5 ypc. This should be heaven for Derrick Henry whom the Titans rely on consistently. The Algo has Car -1. This one is close, but I am leaning road dog and the under. I will be looking at Henry and Jonnu Smith's props. Note:There is RLM on this game. Chicago @ Philadelphia (-4): Ok. So last year in the playoffs the Eagle's upset the Bears when the infamous double-doink game happened. Last week, the bears lost a last second game to the Chargers (Yay us with LA money line) to another last second doink missed field goal. The question is... Is that summarizing this team until changes are made? OR did the double doink last year and the doink last week combine to make a triple doink, thus breaking the Bears curse?!?! Since my algo doesn't yet have the capabilities to factor in the emotional swings of doinks and NFL curses, we will look to the numbers for guidance. Last week it looked like the Bears had a chance to end their losing streak and they gave themselves that chance by finally committing to the run. They ran Montgomery for 135 yards and a TD at 5ypc. However, the same game plan might not be as effective here as the Eagles rush defense ranks 9th overall giving up only 3.9 ypc and 90 ypg. On the other side, the Bears rush d is even better, giving up only 3.6 ypc and 86 ypg. For the Eagles it looks as if LT Jason Peters (knee) and LB Nigel Bradham are doubtful-out. However, a big boost for the Eagles when stretching the field and taking double teams off Ertz will be the return of Deshawn Jackson. My algo has this @ PHL -3.5. I see them winning the majority of times, but I wouldn't sleep on a Bears cover here. My algo gives them at least a 27.5% chance of winning out right and 4 points is a lot to cover when your secondary can't cover anyone and the only team of note that the Eagles have beaten is Green Bay. There schedule does open up though... They play the 3rd easiest schedule for the rest of the season combined with a bunch of home games. Note:For props I will be looking at Ertz (Jackson back takes doubles off Ertz who has been limited the last few weeks) and Allen Robinson ( Philly is giving up 42.5 FP to the WR position this year (30th) and they rank 20th vs. the WR-1. He has 7, 16, and 9 targets in his last 3 games and he faces an Eagles' secondary that he torched for 10 catches, 143 yards and a touchdown in the wild-card game. The only thing working against this prop is Trubitky has 0 td passes in 4 of 6 games... Minnesota @ Kansas City (+3.5): This one has had no line all week. As the week has progressed it has gone from Min -1 all the way to Min -3.5. I am assuming this all has to do with the status of Ma homey. So far he is questionable, but if the spread crossed the "3", I'd say we can assume he is more of a no go then a go. No matter who the QB is, they aren't going to have an easy go of things. The Vikings D have given up more than 21 points only 1 time and it ranks third in scoring defense (16.5 points per game) and fifth in total defense (313.9 yards). While the KC pass rush has been stepping up (25 sacks now) and they do have offensive weapons, it is their run D that will be tested this weekend. Dalvin Cook is leading the Min rush offense that is averaging 4.9ypc and 160ypg and he will be facing a Kansas City’s defense which is near the bottom of the league against the run (145 yards per game) and allows 4.9 yards per rush (3rd most in NFL). The algo has this as a PK but that's with Mahomes. This may end up being a fade on the spread give the uncertainty surrounding PM, however I will definitely be looking at Cook's props. New York Jets @ Miami (+3.5): Im not gonna touch this game. If you want action on it I think there are two favorable props. Bell for the Jets. Parker for Miami. Both are facing poor defenses. As for the spread, I can't ride the Miami tank train this week after they covered vs WAS, gave the bills hell, and started out 14-0 against the Steelers (before throwing the WAS and PIT games). And I can't ride withe the Jets right now just due to inconsistency to perform. NEXT! Indianapolis @ Pittsburgh (+1/-1): This is one of the more curious spreads. My algo has Pitt -5! (that's with all the QB switches and ups and downs) Every single Jersey site has PIT +1.5/+1 EXCEPT Foxbet which has them at -1 and it looks like the Vegas lines have Pit -1 or PK. As for injuries, there are two very notable. For the Colts, TY Hilton will be out and for the Steelers, RB James Conner will be out. Two offensive weapons. With Conner hurt, Jaylen Samuels will be returning to face a Colts rush D that gives up 4.8 ypc (25th). On the flip side it will be Marlon Mack and that fantastic IND offensive line vs a Steelers D that vs the rush is pretty good, only giving up 3.7 ypc. Another challenge for the IND offensive line will be the Steelers rush D that so far has accumulated 26 sacks. (Colts have only given up 11) Personally this game is all over the place and feels like a home team or fade. However with a low projected total (40.5) and the spread bouncing between -1 and +1, this is a another potential game for the double-tease with Cheese. If you can get both sides above 7, I like it! Note:There is RLM on this game. Detroit @ Oakland (-2.5/-3): This is the raiders first home game since Sept 15th. My algo has this as OAK -3 so I am glad to see the market movement confirming it, but I wish i took the spread at the beginning of the week, haha. This looks like it should be a shoot out type game with both defense ranking in the bottom half and both offenses having weapons and a top half of the league QB. A lot will hinge on the health of Josh Jacobs who is questionable, but looks to be a go. He leads the league's seventh-ranked rushing attack with 620 yards and will be facing a Lions run d that gives up an average 4.7 ypc and 131 ypg. The Raiders don't have to fear the run as the Lions rank 26th in the league with 3.6 yards per carry and are tied for second-to-last with two rushing TDs. However, the Det offense is explosive and contains some bright stars. Kenny Golladay has had 123 yards and two touchdowns against the Giants and has been targeted at least eight times in all but one game this year. Also, Amendola should be matched up against Lamarcus Joyner who is graded as one of the worst coverage CBs in the entire NFL. He is giving up a 68% catch rate. As a whole, the Raiders pass d is 29th in passer rating, 29th in ypa, and 30th in ypg. There is heavy favoritism towards the over from the algo. Note:I have already mentioned Jacobs, Galloday, and Amendola for prop plays but another good look in this game is Darren Waller. He has 8+ targets in 4 of his last 5 games and DET is 24th vs. the TE position. Tampa Bay @ Seattle (-5.5/-5): This is one of my most curious match ups of the day. My algo has TB as a -0.5 favorite. That is quite a discrepancy from the Vegas lines. Along with the OAK game, this game is favored by the algo heavily on the over. SEA has been very meh at home this year. Their three home wins have been by a total of 4 points to some very suspect teams (CIN, PIT, LAR). TB has put up points against some very good defenses this year. 6 of their 7 games have been against Top 10 defenses and they're averaging 27.5 ppg vs those 6 teams. Normally, Seattle would look to it's running game to control the tempo. It's no secret that their offense has trouble clicking without establishing the running game. Unfortunately for them, TB has one of the best running defenses in the league. They are only allowing a league best 3.0 ypc. They've shut down very good running backs like CMC, Barkley, and Gurley. TB also has the Highest blitz rate in the NFL right now. This should make for some good opportunity for Wilson to take off and launch bombs against the TB scoring defense that gives up 30.3 points per game their 31st ranked passing defense that gives up an average 285.9 yards per game. For TB on offense, Winston has thrown seven interceptions in the past two games but he also got 400 and 301 yards passing in those games. As for injuries, there are some notables for Seattle. They will experience a massive change on their offensive line with veteran center Justin Britt out for the season with a torn ACL in his knee. Also, safety Tedric Thompson (shoulder) will undergo season-ending surgery, and recent acquisition Quandre Diggs (hamstring) is unlikely to play. Two interesting notes about Seattle: They have only one win over a team with a winning record. Five of its six wins are by one score. Also, underdogs have covered in 11 of Seattle's last 12 games. This games deserves some definite sprinkle on the money line and almost all receivers are good prop looks for both sides. Cleveland @ Denver (+4): Ughhhh, this is a tough one. My Algo has Den -1, but that was with Flacco under center. He is out and the Bronco's will be starting Brandon Allen who was drafted in 2016 by the Jags but has yet to see an NFL snap. This one is tough because while I instinctively want to take Cleveland after hearing they are facing a backup QB getting his first start...but then I remember that QBs aren't everything and there have been a few backup QBs to come in and crush it this year (Bridgewater, Brisset, Allen, Mustachio). The Bronco's also have a decent running game lead by Lindsay (although he is on the injury report right now with some wrist action, if he is out it will be Freeman leading the way) and they will be facing a Cle rush D that ranks 29th against the run giving up 143 ypg. This should be another tough spot for Baker Mayfield who has thrown 6 TDs to 12 INTs (yes 6-12, not 12-6....). He will be facing a Denver pass D that gives up less than 200 ypg through the air. I think this game will run through Nick Chubb. Denver is 14th in rush D but gives up over 24 fantasy points a game to RBs. As this spread climbs higher, I like the CLE side less and less. Green Bay @ LA Chargers (+3.5/+4): This is another game that has upset potential written all over it. Almost 90% of the public is on Green Bay right now, money line and spread. Any time that happens and the line barely moves...seems to be a good spot for the dog. Even though Devante Adams is back, I expect GB to try and control the game (given they aren't playing from behind) by utilizing Arron Jones. LAC have the 24th ranked rush defense and they are giving up 122.8 RY/G (23rd). They are also 31st vs. pass catching RBs. Also, he has 8, 4, 7 and 8 targets in those last 4 games and facing a team that is struggling to cover the RB out of the backfield. On the flip side, GB is 15th vs. TE and giving up the 27th most points to the TE position. Hunter Henry has 6, 8 and 9 targets in his last 3 games and looks to have a good match up for props. New England @ Baltimore (+3): Lucky us, the NFL scheduling gods saved the best game for last! First let's start with this interesting tweet by @jamisonhensley Since 2008, Ravens are NFL-best 12-1 in primetime home games. In home primetime games under John Harbaugh, Ravens have ... -Won 10 in a row, longest active streak in NFL -Outscored opponents, 341-171 -Plus-13 turnover differential The Ravens head into this game with the #7 offense but they have played the 3rd easiest defenses. While the Patriots come into this game with the #1 defense but they have played the #1 easiest offenses. As everyone is probably saying, this game will probably come down to the Patriots ability to stop the run. (Both the RBs and Lamar Jackson) If they can do that, it will force Jackson to use his arm and while his stats are decent, they are skewed. Half his tds this season have still come from the dolphins week 1 and in the month of October he has thrown only ONE touchdown to three INTs. Personally I am going to ride with Big Bill but be advised, there is RLM on this game. 2/3 tickets are on NE, yet the spread has gone from -4 to -3. Notes on the day:From @SureBetss on twitter: “On 6 point teasers the Patriots, Packers, 49ers, Lions, Colts, and Saints are a combined 41-4 this season (31-13-1 ATS combined) 🔥” Also, I referred two neighbors in my building this week and juiced up my free bet bank! :D Singles 57-60-2 (+11.41u)

I reaaaaally want to put a bet on NE to win the AFC, the Saints to win the NFC but its probably too late to get a good price. There is a small chance if we hit a big parlay or come across a site with good odds and a free bet available, I may parlay the two.
I am posting this now because there is a 9:30 game in London. There may be an edit or two as the night goes on.
