Just watched James Bond Casino Royale and it reminded me of my marriage
James got played, at the highest level, because he let his interest level dictate how quickly he opened up to Vesper. He didn't test her. He didnt give her any time to prove her loyalty. She acted sweet, love bombed him, and fcked his brains out for a few days, and he just bent right over for her. Same thing happened to me. My ex is gorgeous, exactly what I'm attracted to physically. In the beginning she was the perfect girlfriend. Affectionate, flexible, sweet, feminine, gave gifts, wrote notes, incredible sex, she put lots of effort into the relationship. So we got engaged really quick because she asked. A year or so later, her effort fizzled out. Her true colors came out. She became negative about everything and didnt trust me to do anything...exactly how her mother treats her dad. Just like James, I played myself by letting my interest level dictate how fast I jumped into a commitment and overlooked her crappy behavior for years before finally leaving. Don't be like me.
I have never seen a James Bond movie before (with the exceptions of Goldeneye and Casino Royale a long time ago). Which movies in the series are good or worth watching? Which movies can I skip?
I’ve watched this movie countless times, but can someone tell me how, in Casino Royale, James Bond knew something was up after having dinner with Vesper when the tournament was over? He follows her to see her get kidnapped, how did he know something was up?
Just watched Casino Royale, and I love how Felix Leiter saves James Bond from screwing things up with trying to kill Le Chiffre - a great Leiter introduction, I think. I just love how the CIA have Bond's back by staking him back in the game.
I just finished watching all the James Bond movies from Dr. No to Casino Royale.
I absolutely loved it. I don’t think I’ve enjoyed any film series as much as this one. From the gun barrel sequence to the credits, it was incredibly fun to watch these movies. It was also entertaining watching the evolution of the Bond movies throughout the decades. I have yet to watch the last three movies, NSNA and the original Casino Royale, and I look forward to doing so. My personal favorites (top 5) were OHMSS, Live and Let Die, The Spy Who Loved Me, License to Kill and Casino Royale (2006). Absolutely brilliant movie series. Edit: Grammar
At the end of "Casino Royale (2006)," James Bond says his own name. It was the final line of the film as a last-minute reminder to the audience that they in fact just watched a James Bond film as the title does nothing to suggest this.
If you have the time and willpower, I highly suggest watching 'Casino Royal' and 'Quantum of Solace' back-to-back as one epic, 4.5 hour long James Bond mega movie
Quantum of Solace is kind of a guilty pleasure for me. I really enjoy certain aspects of it, but I know it can't really stand on it's own. It suffers from pretty poor pacing and direction, and a unfocused and loose narrative. It's well documented that it was heavily affected by the 07-08 writer's strike. HOWEVER, when looked at in the context of being a direct continuation to the story started in Casino Royal, I think the screenplay actually works quite well. Quantum literally begins minutes after Casino ends. It continues and concludes Bond's unfinished business with Vesper, and gives Mathis and Felix a lot more to do. So, if you look at it like "Casino Royal: Vol. 2", I think Quantum can be quite enjoyable. It still suffers from a lack of competent pacing but I can forgive that. I honestly think some of it's set pieces are among the best in the franchise. I really like the opening car chase, and the opera scene is breathtaking. Don't get me wrong, Casino Royal can obviously stand on it's own. I think most agree that it's one of the best Bond's of all time - but if you watch it together with Quantum, I think you'll find they actually enhance each other in a pleasing way. Take a Friday or Saturday and try watching them both back-to-back - at least once. I think fans of Bond owe it to themselves to give Quantum a second chance, and I think this is the most palatable way to do it. There is still a lot to like about it.

I just won a James Bond DVD collection form the first film all the way up to Casino Royale. Which 5 should I watch first, or rather, which 5 Bond films are considered to be the best?
Just so I can have a general idea of which to watch first. Thanks /movies.
So I'm getting out from under the rock I've been living. I finally watched Casino Royal, next is Quantum of Solace and then Skyfall. Now I have an urge to play James Bond(esque) games. What games do you recommend?
I'd like them for PC if at all possible. Thanks in advance!
Remember when bond was fighting baddies with sharp bowler hats and milk bombs. This recent trend of a more "gritty" James Bond movies has 007 looking more like a hitman than a spy. I'm tired of bad guys with scars on their face trying to copy blofeld's look. GET YOUR OWN THING! Also I'm tired of these serious ass fight scenes with more cuts then punches thrown. What happened to those cheesy fights of guys scrambling on the floor, getting nocked over furniture, and throwing double fisted star trek punches. James bonds fight scenes always had a lick of humor or wit to them, they were never just two dudes throwing hands. The James Bond franchise is so much more then just some grey painted action fest. its a fun, classy, wish fulfillment franchise that is at its best when it doesn't take itself to seriously. Make James Bond wacky again.
Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig, opened 8 years ago. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the 007 franchise, the $200M film opened to $88.4M, grossing a franchise high $304.4M DOM/$1.109B WW. Nominated for 5 Oscars, it won Best Sound Editing (in a rare tie) and Original Song for Adele's titular theme.
James Bond movies(Daniel Craig era especially) in just a bunch of product-placement wrapped around weak scenario.
Movie is about brand-new RR Defender, JaguaAstonMartin, some clothes brand, alcohol brand, political agenda. Main character will always win even though he is naked without any weapon in a cage inside a fortification building with hundreds of armed bad guys. Pointless and boring.
What are your unpopular opinions about James Bond movies?
I personally like Spectre and Quantum of Solace. Jaws was the best villain of The Spy Who Loved Me, not the other dude. Domino from Thunderball would probably be the most beautiful Bond girl. Tatiana, From Russia with Love wasn't the most beautiful, pretty enough but there was something off about her face. Live and Let Die is my favorite Roger Moore movie, and The World is Not Enough is my favorite Brosnan movie, I also like Die Another Day. Christmas Jones from The World is Not Enough was a dreadful character, and Elektra was the best character of that movie.
